Eneko Llanos

Eneko Llanos was introduced to the triathlon by his brother Hektor. He quickly was hooked on the competition and was soon garnering victories. In 1995, he won the Spanish triathlon championships in the junior category and decided to devote himself fully to this event. Thanks to his steadfastness, he got a ticket to the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, where he came in 23rd. Later on came his triumphs at the Ibiza World Championships, the Spanish Championships and the Xterra World Championships; all of these in just one year, 2003. Thanks to this winning streak, he qualified for the Olympic Games again, this time in Athens. Eneko then decided to take the next step and try his luck in the triathlon's most demanding event: the Ironman. Little by little he made his way to victory in the 2007 Lanzarote Ironman. He then won the World Championships in Frankfurt and took silver at the World Championships in Hawaii. This passionate athlete continues to live in his home town of Vitoria, and it's not uncommon to see him walking its streets with his mind firmly on his next challenge.
